Answer: How many connectors are in the middle of the back of the switch? (Should be only one in the middle?) Is this a 3 position switch, SP/DBT? YES! (Single Pole/DouBle Through). One wire either + hot or common - to the center of the switch. (Not both, Hot + and or Common - wired to switch). One wire goes directly to the source you want to energize. You are only going to switch one wire to energize a device. Most times the positive + has a fuse in line to the device to be energized, for protection!
