The shaft cut-out is oval/oblong in shape, measuring 1-3/4 inches x 1-1/2 inches, and it may fit loosely over some door knobs with round, slender shafts. Please note that these lock-out devices are specifically designed to be used over keyed/locked door knobs, effectively blocking access to the keyhole. If you have lever-type door knobs, please refer to model number S 4181 for the appropriate lock-out device.
