Ziggurat - PlayStation 4

**** "Ziggurat" for PlayStation 4 has emerged as a surprisingly enjoyable, yet polarizing experience amongst players. For many, the game serves as a love letter to the classic dungeon shooters of yesteryear, reminiscent of titles like Hexen, which has given it an edge with fans of the genre. It boasts a unique first-person fast-paced shooting format, coupled with a randomization element for weapons and skills that aims to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging. At a price point of $20, many players feel it’s a solid investment for a fun, albeit short-lived, gaming experience. On the flip side, certain criticisms cannot be ignored. A notable number of players have pointed out that the game can quickly become monotonous, with the repetitive cycle of starting over after each death. Many found the controls lacking in precision, and the graphical fidelity appears outdated, reminiscent of earlier PlayStation generations. This has led to a perception of "Ziggurat" as a budget title, lacking in polish and depth over extended gameplay sessions. While it initially captivates with its fast-paced action, some players found their interest waning after only a few days, suggesting that the replayability might not live up to expectations for everyone. Overall, "Ziggurat" maintains a niche charm, particularly for those willing to embrace its retro-inspired aesthetics and random gameplay mechanics, but it may not be able to sustain the attention of gamers looking for a more robust or graphically stunning experience. **
