Answer: This combo amp is actually meant for a bass guitar but it will technically work with any electric guitar or bass guitar. However, as a bass amp, all of it's settings are built form the ground up to sound better with a low sound, meant for bass guitars. -

Which is better for a beginner garage player, Hartke 75w, Orange 50w or Fender Rumble 100?
Answer: I went from playing an Acoustic 200Watt head with a 4x10 cabinet to this Orange 50Watt combo. I play a 5 string Ibanez and can actually hear the low B string now! This amp is loud and has killer tone, plenty of volume for a garage. I had a Fender Rumble 100. It sounded great but malfunctioned after a few months. There are no serviceable parts, so they sent a new one. I sold it at that point. Never played a Hartke. -

Answer: Use headphones, it has a jack...Or play at a lower volume. It is a good amp, not overkill! It has great tone, but low frequency travels well, so your neighbors will hear it if too loud. It can get loud... -
Question:
Is it loud enough for rehearsal in metal band?
Answer: I auditioned for a metal band recently and cranked this thing kept up (volume at max, gan at around 3) perfectly. Once I throw my pedals in front it's sometimes too much for the current band I play with during rehearsal.
