How long do you have to leave it on?
Answer: I usually leave it on for at least 5 minutes and rub it in REALLY well, making sure it gets down to the skin. My dog has long hair and a LOT of it. -

Does the shampoo come with strong perfume smell? I do not like strong smell. Neither does my dog.
Answer: It does have a strong smell for about a day. I don't like it but the benefits outweigh the scent. I think wet dogs are unpleasant regardless. -

Should I towel dry my dog or only air dry?
Answer: I towel dry Pebbles a little, pat dry not rub. But only because she is very cold natured. Then I let her finish air drying. -

Can you use weekly?
Answer: I believe so. When we first got our little shih tzu rescue, she had some skin issues & our vet suggested bathing her weekly & this is the shampoo we used. In fact I take this to the groomer along with the conditioner to use on Gracie every 4 weeks. Both products smell sooooo good. -

Can I just buy the shampoo only or would I have to buy the conditioner to see improvements?

I have a english bull dog and he smells bad I will wash him down but by the next day he smells bad again. And I have been using shampoo from the vet.
Answer: This shampoo may help. You also may want to consider the food you are feeding. He could be allergic which would cause the dog to have odor issues. Treats besides food may contribute to this problem. -

Answer: No, the fragrance is mild. The shampoo didn't work for our hound, the Zymox ear enzyme drops worked great to get rid of the itching and the yeast smell. -

Did anyone see improvements with this shampoo?
Answer: Oh yes, I love this shampoo. I lost my dog several year ago, and my friend just got a dog, and I was looking up this shampoo for him. My dog had allergies and her skin would get red, itchy, and smell nasty. This was the only thing that help to any degree. I love this product, and I would use this on any dog, and I know that my next dog which I hope to have in a few months, will be using this shampoo weather or not he has a skin problem, as there is nothing better than I can think of, in all the research I did with my last dog and all the shampoos and conditioners and speciality products this was the one that stood out, and unless something better comes along, this is going to be it! -

My shihtzu is oily, has flaky skin and scratches herself to death. Her skin seems hot and she smells even after a bath, would this work?
Answer: My dog is a shihtzu/griffon mix and he was scratching himself raw under his front leg pits, behind his ears and his face. I have used the Zymox shampoo and leave-in rinse along with the spray and have seen a miraculous improvement! He has had two baths and three rinses. When he flares up I use the spray. He really smelled also and that has gone away completely, the leave-in rinse really works for that.
