The sponges of the product are interchangeable with other Hygger filters, but the lengths may differ. The replacement sponge is available separately without the wall attachment. It can be used horizontally or vertically, but for horizontal use, it is important to ensure that it does not kink the airline tubing and block its flow. The sponge must be cleaned regularly, and it lasts for about two weeks in a shrimp tank. The suction cups are not very strong, but this can be fixed by finding a stronger adhesive solution. Overall, this is a good quality and effective filter, albeit with some minor drawbacks.
