Nitecore Handheld Flashlights EDC23 Editorial Review

The Nitecore EDC23 has garnered a vibrant mix of positive feedback and some critical concerns from customers who appreciate its compact design, powerful performance, and innovative features. Users Consistently praise its brightness and versatility, making it a reliable choice for everyday carry whether at home, work, or out in the field. The lightweight and flat form factor is particularly noted as it allows for easy pocket compatibility, akin to carrying a knife. The flashlight's battery life is also highlighted as impressive, with users mentioning they can use it extensively without the need for frequent recharging. One of the standout features of the EDC23 is its dual-button interface, which offers a clearer distinction between normal and turbo/strobe modes, enhancing user experience once familiarized. Additionally, the LCD screen is well-received for its informative display, which shows current lumens, battery voltage, and operation modes. However, there are significant concerns regarding the flashlight’s pocket clip, which many deem poorly designed. Users report that the clip is overly long and stiff, making it cumbersome to reinsert the light back into pockets discreetly. Modifications with third-party clips have been recommended by several users to circumvent this issue. Another point of contention is the flashlight’s tactical functions. While it is not inherently designed as a tactical light, some users criticize the semi-lockout feature that can unintentionally prevent activation under stress, deeming it a potential design flaw for emergency scenarios. Overall, while the Nitecore EDC23 is preferred for its excellent features and robust performance, users advise Prospective buyers to Consider modifications or adjustments to enhance their experience. **
