Answer: Yes. I have built a 165 W installation. -

I have a 340-watt solar panel and 2 110 amp hour leisure batteries. Will the cheaper unit charge fast or should I go for the expensive one?
Answer: I have 525w solar, flat on a van roof. I've been able to get 35+ amps going into the batteries at midday from this controller. I have 200ah. I think I could charge from flat in 2 good summer days, so it works for me. -

Can you tell me what size cable this controller can take?
Answer: It depends on how much solar panels you are using and also the size of your battery bank. I would use 16mm cable from the MPPT to the Battery bank which is more than enough and safe for 40a. I hope that helps. -

Can I also link a wind generator along with solar panels to this controller? So both solar and wind are charging 1 battery bank?
Answer: No, it is not built for that.
